Our ice-strengthened vessel Explorer, takes us to Greenland, The long days of the Arctic summer melt Greenland's winter collar of sea ice, the bays begin to open up, the wildlife comes out, and the wild flowers and berries begin to flourish. Greenland in July and August is literally an awakening as the flora and fauna take advantage of the short but extreme summer. Whales, seals, foxes, musk oxen, polar bears, and a variety of seabirds are some of the wildlife we hope to see. Greenland is still one of the most uncommon destinations for travelers and many of our planned locations are pristine and rarely visited. In most of the villages we hope to visit, traditional Inuit hunting and fishing are still the predominate way of life. This is precisely the kind of journey our "Little Red Ship" was designed for.
