Day 1 - Cayo District/ Chaa Creek.
Arrive at Belize City's Goldson International Airport, where you will be met by a hotel representative after clearing customs, then transferred to Chaa Creek (D).
Day 2- Tikal.
Spend a full day exploring the incredible ruins of Tikal in Guatemala in the midst of a rainforest teeming with wildlife. This ceremonial city, built by the ancient Mayans and abandoned over 1,000 years ago, boasts several magnificent structures. Only a small portion of the city has been unearthed, and in the process over 3,000 separate buildings have been revealed: temples, shrines, ceremonial platforms, residences, ball courts, terraces, walkways and plazas (B, L, D).
Day 3- Jungle Activities.
Your day is free to take one more half day tour of your choice, and enjoy unlimited activities at Chaa Creek. Hike on the picturesque trail network that takes you into the 345-acre forest reserve. Take a canoe trip along the Macal River or a guided tour of the Natural History Centre and butterfly farm. An interpretive tour of the Rainforest Medicine Trail at Ixchel Farm is also an option (B, L, D).
Day 4- Cayo District/ Ambergris Caye or Placencia.
After some time spent relaxing or enjoying an early morning bird walk, travel to either Ambergris Caye or Placencia (B).
Days 5-8 - Ambergris Caye or Placencia. Enjoy snorkeling, diving, fishing, wildlife tours, exploring, or lounging at the beach (tours at additional cost).
